When I meet new people, and they find out what I do for a living, I usually get one of two responses...
One: this is completely esoteric, they have no idea what I'm talking about. So I just swiftly move the conversation along to another topic.
Or, I'm talking to someone who owns a business...
And I get, "oh, you could probably help me. Here's my business card. Can you take a look at my website?"
So I always take a look at their website. I like to see what people are up to.
And my sweeping advice or feedback for almost everyone who has a website is...
... your website is your number one brand asset.
It's where people get to go to connect with you.
And unfortunately, almost every single website I go to, the owner of the site is making it all about them, and it's just such a lost opportunity.
So, you know, the number one thing that I can say to people is your website is not there for you to talk about yourself.
It is there for you to connect with your audience and show and share with them how you can help them.
So that was my best feedback.
